VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR STUPA CONSTRUCTION

At the TCIA Retreat Center

Yes, there is a stupa being built right here in northwest Arkansas and you can participate.  Construction of the Stupa at the Tibetan Cultural Institute of Arkansas’s Land of Infinite Bliss Retreat Center in Crosses, Arkansas is underway, led by Neal Uphold.

Starting at 8:30 am, Neal needs as many volunteers as possible to help with preparing for pouring concrete,  pouring the concrete and finishing the concrete for the stupa’s foundation.   If you’d like to carpool or caravan out to the Retreat Center, be at Geshe la’s house (235 W. Louise Street – across from Wilson Park) at 8 am.  The concrete truck will be on site  at 10:30 am to start pouring.  Bring gloves and water, and wear work boots or closed-toed shoes (no sandals). 

Directions to Retreat CenterFrom Fayetteville, take Hwy. 16 East through Elkins to Crosses.  At Crosses turn right onto Hwy. 295.  Go a few miles and turn right onto WC 5520 (rugged dirt road).  Go up the hill.  The yellow Meditation Hall is on the right.  Turn right and park along the road in front of the Meditation Hall.
